The Center for Education Reform's mission is to expand educational opportunities that lead to improved economic outcomes. As an education non-profit, like all organizations, it takes financial support to operationalize goals and initiatives. To further expand the Center's reach and impact they are looking to secure more funding from existing foundations and grants in areas related to education and workforce development. The Center is looking to work with student externs who will refine an existing individual donor information, find new foundations and related grants that will help maximize the impact of the Center's mission. As an additional component to this experience, externs will also draft their best grant application response that could be submitted as a part of the Center's future grant submissions.

What you'll do:

To apply for this position:

  1. Name one type of person who might be interested in donating to help education reform.
  2. Do you have any ideas for where you might find this type of person?

This externship is offered exclusively through Paragon One.  CER is not accepting or considering any applications through other channels.

The Center for Education Reform is seeking externs who are passionate about non-profit development, and have a knack at creative writing and/or journalism. While there are no hard requirements, this opportunity is recommended for students with prior non-profit experience and volunteerism with education organizations, and would be a perfect fit for a student looking to pursue a career as a non-profit administrator, fundraising, sales, or business development professional. Students with related skills, experience, and general interest in the Center's mission are equally encouraged to inquire and submit an application that best highlights their transferrable skills.
