Program Overview

Pfizer aims to hire diverse talent to improve innovation and deliver high-impact results in the R&D pipeline. During the externship, you will analyze recruiting, and HR practices from within and outside the pharma industry and recommend strategies to attract, retain, and engage a diverse and inclusive workforce. In summary, you will help Pfizer design its recruiting strategy to meet the larger organizational goals around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

What you'll do:

During this program, you will have a chance to:

  • Familiarize yourself with Pfizer, its vision, goals, and the industry recruiting practices.
  • Research and create a deep understanding of communication and recruiting channels used to attract diverse talent into the recruiting pipeline.
  • Learn and build a competitive analysis of recruiting strategies used by pharmaceutical companies
  • Identify potential benchmarks for talent acquisition outside of the pharmaceutical industry that can be adapted to acquire talent. 
  • Learn how a recruiting process works and research about the best-recruiting strategies and tactics to attract top talent for a world-class organization 
  • Create and deliver a compelling presentation showcasing best practices and potential recommendations for Pfizer.

We are seeking ambitious undergraduate or graduate students from all majors with an interest in human resources, marketing, talent acquisition and social work studying at schools located in North America. This program is perfect for students with an interest in the intersection of human resources, research & development and STEM fields. No prior experience or coursework in human resources or marketing is necessary.


Skills you'll develop:
If you are not a US Citizen/Permanent Resident and English is not your native language, you will be required to demonstrate evidence of your proficiency in English through TOEFL (minimum score: 118) or IELTS tests (minimum score: 9).
If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, or if English is your native language, or if your application is made through a sponsoring educational partner, you will be exempt from the English language testing requirement.
