Develop data skills while helping to transform the sales strategy of a growing startup.

Overview

In this externship program, students will learn strategic consulting skills to analyze and evaluate challenges from non-profit organizations using consulting frameworks, in an overall effort to help them solve their important problems. Selected individuals will be paired with a specific non-profit organization and dive into their strategic problems, such as development, impact assessment, process improvements, talent engagement, communication, and strategic positioning. Throughout this externship program, professionals from PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) will provide mentorship and coaching.

The Experience

Learn about the strategy consulting process and how to help create value for a non-profit client based on their vision and mission
Research and develop an understanding of a given field
Analyze complex problems ranging from fundraising and development, stakeholder management, impact measurement, as well as use consulting frameworks to help identify problem areas and propose solutions
Learn to gather, analyze, and visualize data to inform problem areas and possible solutions
Create and deliver a compelling presentation to a non-profit client that incorporates valuable insights, trends, and recommendations

Qualifications

Ambitious undergraduate students with an interest in consulting, strategy, and non-profits. This program is for students who would like to understand the consulting profession while generating ideas to help impact non-profit organizations.

Are you a Community College student interested in the words of startups, technology and insurance? Extern in partnership with Insight Risk Technologies is looking for you!

As an extern, you'll be responsible for verifying contacts, updating crucial details, and uncovering new insurance brokers specializing in Builder’s Risk insurance.

‍

Insight Risk Technologies combines technology and insurance to reduce water damage in construction projects. They aim to cut water damage losses by 90% and improve financial outcomes in construction.

‍

By helping them manage their CRM data effectively, your work will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective sales outreach and their ability to engage and maintain relationships with insurance brokers.

During this externship, you'll cultivate a diverse skill set, including:

City-Specific Market Analysis: Create a single, engaging market analysis slide that highlights the key construction projects in your assigned city, detailing their size, type, and how they align with Insight Risk's strategic goals.
Contact Verification and Enhancement: Dive into the CRM to review and update contact details for 10 existing contacts, adding depth to your understanding of the insurance industry’s active participants.
Audience Identification: Identify and document 5 new potential contacts who specialize in Builder’s Risk insurance, expanding Insight Risk's network and your professional insights.
Insights and Recommendations: Assemble a dynamic 7-10 slide presentation that synthesizes your findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for Insight Risk.
Public Speaking & Presentation: Produce a concise 5-minute video that captures the essence of your presentation, showcasing your ability to communicate complex information effectively and engagingly.
